Hi folks. I like the American type of bike. The Schwinn Stingray, old style chopper type of bike.
Ages ago I got a Bridgestone, at an auction. Not the Japanese 2 stroke motorbike from the 60s. But the bicycle they made under license from Schwinn. It was fairly scruffy. I didn't get on with it. Should have sold it to a collector for millions. :/
I like the Retrorides car website. They've got a section, Readers other modifications. For bikes and other non car things. A while ago they had a craze for Bratz bikes. A lot of people showed there project bikes. I got one off of Ebay. It came from a place called Compton, not in Los Angeles tho. The place I lived had the initials, L.A. So keeping it all Gangster then. :/
At the time I was working part time in a bike shop, about 20 miles away. Buses were terrible, often took more time to get back and forward to work, than I actually worked. So I didn't have much bike fixing mojo, for my own bikes.
I was in the scrap yard, a common place for me. Pity its closed now. I seen a Bratz beauty bike. complete minus chain. There was also a similar bike, that had moon bars and a regular saddle, 5 speed gears on grip shift. I was gonna get that as well, never did tho.
I fitted a chain and cleaned the bike up. Its got chrome rims with 48 chrome spokes radialy laced. Rims are a bit rusty. I got a few BMX alloys from the scrappies. With the intention to build the alloy rims to the Bratz hubs and spokes. Not done that yet. As was unsure if whether to strip it and use parts on my Bart Simpson chopper. Im wanting ape bars and banana seat on it.
I have got another Bratz at an auction. Just cleaned it up and test rode it. So will make one good Bratz lowrider. One Bratz sort of muscle bike. And do up the Bart bike too.
