Today myself, Grifter Guru and Quit Neil went to Derbyshire for a few pints and to collect a load of Chopper bits.
As usual here we are at Milton keynes Station waiting for the Train to Stockport
here we are changing trains at Stockport.
This is Stockport Railway Viaduct
We got off the train at New Mills and got onto the towpath of the Peak Forest Canal. Here is Northumberland Chopper with Disley Viaduct in the background
Prismatic S5, Northumberland and Rons 10 speed with the Goyt Vally as a back drop. We are 500ft above sea level
Prismatic S5 taking a rest
Being Canalmen we had our security keys with us so when a boat got near to Furnace Vale swing bridge we were able to open it for him without the usual hassle of stopping. Later in the day he came in the pub we were at and we had a pint together
Back on our journey
The canal splits at the end, one fork goes to Buxworth Canal basin which have been restored
Part of the canal complex
The Navigation Inn, Buxworth Basins. A great pub.
This is the junction where the Peak Forest canal splits, behind is the Buxworth Basins branch, under the bridge to the right is the way back to New Mills and to the left is the branch to the Whaley Bridge Terminus.
Quiet Neil on Prizzy S5 at the Terminus at Whaley Bridge
The Terminus
On the train back from Whaley Bridge to Stockport, prizzy and Northumberland enjoying the trip
Ron's 10 speed has its own seat
Riding a Chopper at 75mph, easy
End of the day waiting for the London train
Thanks for looking
